OhFancyBaby

OhFancyBaby  was born when a stay at home mom became very passionate about cloth diapers, due to the fact that her newborn was allergic to regular diapers. As simple as cloth diapering can be, she got caught up in all the questions and doubts about cloth diapering that she decided to make it simple for all the mommies and daddies that want to save money and be more gentle to their babies. With that, Fancy Pants was born; the all in one pocket cloth diaper with a micro-suede inner lining, and an outer super soft and cozy fancy minky or the fancy original outside. They come with 2 inserts either the double fluffed microfiber insert or the all natural fluffed bamboo. With Fancy Pants cloth diapers she decided she needed wet bags and other accessories. That is when Fancy Mama was born. Fancy Mama products are all made by stay at home moms who have an amazing God given and blessed gift to sew and be creative. Fancy Mama Products include; wet bags, reusable wipes, toy blankets, nursing covers and more to come. The final Fancy product that was created are Fancy Flowers, these are made by a stay at home mom, she has an amazing husband who  supports her Fancy Adventures and she also has 2 girls whom are 7 months and 4 years old, Felicity and Faith who are her main reason for creating OhFancyBaby. Hi, I’m Laura Weiting, owner and creator of OhFancyBaby. Thank you so much for loving us we are so blessed and thankful for all your support.

Coming Soon...

We just got back from our yearly Summer Vacation up at the lake. Nothing like tenting it for a week with two kiddos and thankfully one dog. Our neighbors were kind enough to watch the corgi's and the kitty for us. We had a blast though, the weather was some what perfect and the bugs were at a minimum and we have some great and well behaved kiddos... so piece of cake right ? It was a nice getaway but now we are back to the daily grind ...

I have some new things up my sleeve that I'm starting to get really excited about, I'm hoping that my passion for this grows only stronger and that I succeed as much, if not more that what I'm imagining. A new business can take up to a year to get going so please pray for patience and endurance as I embark in my awesome new adventure.

Coming Soon... Cloth Diapers, Re-usable Wipes, Flower Clips, Nursing Covers, Crinkle Blankets and MORE
Please send me an email if you are the bit interested in what will be coming in this new business as I will be having a Launch Party in the next few weeks that I would love to have EVERYONE at.

I'm praying for strength as I launch all this at once and I praise the Lord for giving me this opportunity thorough my Tia who was welcomed home about a month ago. Although we all miss her dearly, we know that she is home now and happier and healthier than ever.

Back in the Blog

So I feel like I haven't blogged in months, probably because it has been over a month... I think.

I have had a lot of family stuff going on causing me to be out of town and not myself lately, but as I'm starting to get ready for a certain someones 4th Birthday I though I should update my blog and the rest of my life.

You heard it right my not so little princess is turning 4 !!!

I'm having a really hard time excepting the fact that my little girl is getting to be so BIG. I can only imagine how I'm going to be when she goes to school. However, I'm having an even harder time with the other princess who started crawling, sitting up and blowing raspberries (thanks to grandpa) all in the last week or so.

What characters these two are together, Faith is thrilled that Felicity is starting to interact and play now, it's AWESOME that these two are so in love with each other. But don't you dare take a toy from Felicity, she is a screamer lol and holds her own that is for sure.

In other news, I'm still trying to figure out my nitch, I'm continuing making flowers and headbands but it hasn't boomed like I had hoped, so my next possible adventure may be getting into the cloth diaper world and selling those, however it's a lot upfront and I'm not sure how it will turn out in the end. So prayers please as I try to figure out God's Plan for me.

I promise to try and get back into blogging sorry it's been so dark around here lately :)

Mmm... Chocolate

I never thought I would ever have 5 girls, however over the weekend I got a brief preview of what life would be if I was a mommy to 5 girls... The oldest was our neighbor Isabel (9) and the youngest was Felicity (4 months) in between that I had Faith (3), Lauren (4) and Holly (2)... after watching the movie of the moment "Tangled" I decided to skip the painting of the nails and jumped right into the games. Hide in Go Seek is not so fun in a small house with restricted rooms (the girls ended up on the couch covering their eyes) I found it briefly entertaining ha ha (I love it when kids think you can't see them). Well that failed, so I busted out the board games ... an all time favorite !! TWISTER

We had a successful night overall and I had a blast with all the girls (No they did not ALL spend the night ;)... just in case you were wondering.)

I don't really have an amazing story about this next picture, other than how awesome it is too see in person... Faith yells "Hey it's MATER from cars!!" Sorry the picture isn't that great but I was trying to be some what discret...

Growing up I couldn't stand chocolate... I know it's crazy but you can ask anyone, I wouldn't eat brownies or chocolate cake or even s'mores during camping. However, while pregnant with Felicity I CRAVED chocolate. I don't know what it was with this girl, but she demanded chocolate and LOVED it. I still couldn't stand the taste so I would literally gag it down to make her happy. (The things a mother does for her child) Well, I'm still eating it now that she is almost 5 months and now and then I still crave it. Although, I don't have to gag it down anymore... I think I have actually acquired a taste for it. So, when we went out for ice cream the other day I ended up getting a hot fudge cookie dough chocolate chip brownie sundae... and I didn't think to take a picture until I was a few bites in already .... and I just realized the picture doesn't do it justice... so don't judge ;)

Felicity is becoming such a big girl, from eating cereal and bananas, to trying to get up on her hands and knees to crawl and even taking naps in her big girl crib every so often. This girl is always surprising us. The other night we were at some friends house for dinner and I had Felicity on my lap while we were eating. Felicity has begun to stare intently while you eat and lick her lips, and apparently she had had enough because she grabbed at my plate and managed to grab a baby tomato and almost reached her mouth... Unfortunately I don't have a picture but you could imagine it was pretty comical.

Faith finished up her Awanas Program last night... She will continue as a Cubby in the Fall but got an award for finishing her first Cubbies Book (Memorized almost 30 verses) GO Faith !!

Lastly... I'm entering the world of CLOTH DIAPERS... To Be Continued...

Here is a sneak peek ;)

Crab is Growing Up

Imagination is an amazing thing. Faith plays pirates, cowboys, and princess all the time and sometimes all together too. Who am I to judge her though? I did the same thing when I was her age and beyond, I guess that is where she go it. For a few months now she has had a friend named "crab". This "crab" goes on vacation with us and pops up at dinner and at bed time and is really where ever Faith wants him to be.

Recently though, "crab" has gotten married, needed band aids and has needed to go to the doctor too. The other day she even whispered to me, "Mommy I have a secret for you, guess what "crab" is growing up."

I was desperate to keep her little hands busy on a rainy day so I handed  her a small box and some paint. As she started painting she looked at me and stated. "Crab is going to be so happy, this is his new house."

So here it is... Welcome to Crab's House

Don't be alarmed by the "boo boo" under her nose... she has been trying to grow into her size 11 feet and they got the best of her at the park the other day when she tripped on the pavement and her nose met the ground :( She is healing though.... crab is too.

Happy Mommy is a Happy Family

I made my bed for the first time in I think a month, it gave me the motivation I needed to fold the laundry and put it away and then vacuum. Just when I think I'm all caught up, I get to start all over again. I feel like it's a never ending circle that doesn't have any turn offs. I realized I was making it that way and it didn't necessarily have to be like that. So today I decided to turn off that never ending circle track and to start a new path.

I made my first official "Crock Pot" meal, it was SO easy and came out delicious... I got it from my good friend Kirstin and I tweaked it a bit to make it my own... kind of. So I hope you enjoy this super easy and yummy dinner recipe.

Crock Pot Chicken Taco Soup (Total Time 7 hours)
1 Chopped White or Yellow Onion
1 (16oz) can Chili Beans w/ mild sauce
1 (15oz) can Black Beans (drained)
1 (15oz) can Whole Kernel Sweet Corn (drained)
1 (8oz) can Tomato Sauce
1 (15 oz) can Chicken Broth
1 (16oz) can Diced Tomatoes w/ green chili’s (un-drained)
1 package of Taco Seasoning
1 cup of Water
3 Whole Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breasts
Shredded Cheese
Sour Cream
Flour Tortillas

Step 1 :  Turn Crock Pot on low setting
Step2:  Pour all cans and water in Crock Pot, put onion and taco seasoning in and stir.
Step3: Place Chicken on top and put lid on. Leave it for 5 hours
Step 4: Take Chicken out and shred with two forks and put back in Crock Pot for 2 hours
To Serve: Pour in bowl and top with shredded cheese, sour cream and fresh warm flour tortilla pieces
** Avocado makes a good side as well :)

I have decided to start working out and eating a little better as well, I haven't physically started yet, however I have made the mental commitment and that is the first step right? At least I hope that is how it will work out. I finished eating all the cookies so they are a temptation anymore ha ha... and now I'm ready.

I have been really focusing on ME lately, because I have determined that running the same race everyday isn't doing my family or myself any good. If I'm in a bad mood, so are my girls and so is my husband. So I need to take care of me. That is the best advice I can give any mom... A Happy Mom = A Happy Family

Faith Started Swim Lessons and Loves her New Goggles

Miss Felicity has found her toes, and her toes have found her mouth ... Toe Sucker

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Faith-and-Felicity-Flowers/164349270292096#!/

I think one of the hardest things about getting a new business up a running would definitely be, getting the word out there. I feel it is all about who you know and how you are going to promote your business. So do me a favor and spread the word :)

It has been a long process trying to connect and make friends in the area, being a young mom and having a mommy focused life instead of a party life hasn't really helped that situation, however I wouldn't change it for anything. I have joined a couple "Mommy Groups" that have really connected me with some amazing Moms.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Meets every other week. We try to do little get together at least once a week, but we are all busy mommies and sometimes it just doesn't work out. I have made such a strong bond with some of these women and I absolutely love the fellowship we have with one another every week. These Mommas are AWESOME !!

In this picture there is 6 pregnant mommas can you find them ??

This past weekend was Mother's Day. I got to spend the weekend with my AMAZING mother. We laughed a lot and we had a fun, but short visit. She also gave me a quick "how to" on her sewing machine. My good friend Jennifer has got me in the mood to learn how to sew, unfortunately I feel like I'm out of my element. But with her as my coach I think I can possibly sew... I started off slow and learned how to sew a button. I know it's sad and I didn't need a machine to do it. (Can you even use a machine to sew a button?) Anyways, wish me luck over the next few week as I ... Learn to sew.

I will have another post tonight with the WINNER for the Faith and Felicity Flower giveaway !!

Paid In Blessings

So I'm not one to brag about how amazing my two little girls are, however on days like this one... I just can't hold back on how truly amazing these two are. It was one of those days where being a SAHM (stay at home mom) was about to kick my rear, however I woke up and realized I will conquer this day before it conquers me ... So we got dressed and ready to go and hit the park first thing in the am (about 9:30ish) so Faith could get her wiggles out, before the car ride. On a side note Felicity was looking pretty cute ;)

After spending about and hour and a half at the park it was time for lunch, however I needed to get gas in my car, with these prices I practically cry when I put my forty dollars in the machine and watch it disappear in a liquid I can not consume... Oh how I love my coffee... random I know anyways so after getting gas oh yeah and did a diaper change while I was waiting... I hit the road again and decided to grab lunch at the delicious In N Out burger, however this momma couldn't just drive threw... I unloaded both girls and we dined in (during lunch hour mind you) It went surprisingly well !! Even the trip to the public restroom for Faith went okay ... I will spare you the details...

Insert photo here of girls and I at In N Out (No I didn't take one... close your eyes and picture us there :) )

Okay so now that we are all full we loaded back up in the car, and headed to stop #2 my old dentist office to get a copy of my x-rays. Felicity fell asleep on the way there thankfully and Faith was just wanting to go play in the creek water... which I promised we would do after my dentist appointment. So every 2 seconds she would ask... Can we go play in the water now? What about ice cream ? (another promise I made)
We got to stop #2 and I unloaded the girls went up the flight of stairs, grabbed my xrays and went back down the flight of stairs and loaded the girls back up (easier said than done) remember Felicity is 12lbs and I had her in the carrier (another 10lbs) and Faith in the other hand (a jumping 3.5 year old) however like I said my girls are amazing.

Sorry no photo of us at Stop #2 ... Nothing too exciting

Since we had some time to spare I decided to make a little bit of a detour Stop #3... Enjoy :) Cartoon Cow is my favorite !! and Faith LOVED feeding all the animals and decided Grandma and Grandpa need some on their "farn" (not a typo)

They both posed and smiled so cute :)

Cartoon Cow can't help but want a taste :)

We saw these 2 little guys when they were born... So cute TWINS !!

We hit the road again and after another 35 min drive we arrived at our destination ... so I thought... Felicity started getting hungry and fussy, Faith decided her sister was being to loud and had to repeatedly tell me and the jerk behind me decided to let me know he was a jerk and repeatedly honk at me to turn as if it was helping the situation and I ended up going the wrong way... so after figuring out where I was on my GPS I did a "U ey" and got back on track and eventually parked at our destination, stop #4 and we were early (thankfully) because we had to find building E ... and when you have a baby in a stroller and an old apartment like building transformed into offices labeled A - Z it equals a not so fun adventure. Climbing up one flight of stairs with a stroller wasn't too bad though, and we finally made it. My dentist appointment went well.... and I don't need as big of a procedure as I thought... long story short it can be done with a laser in about 30 minutes !! Way better than surgery ... Sweet :) Thanks to Donald's cousin Tyla for watching the girls during my appt and for hooking me up with a good dentist (she is the office manager)

So I loaded up the girls once again and headed toward the creek water, stop #5,  at this time I was starting to get a little beat, however a promise is a promise and Faith was so good !! So I let her play for a bit in the water...

It was a little short lived, but we had to go and I also promised ice cream, however the ice cream shop that use to be there wasn't, so we walked a little ways with no luck and ended up loading back up in the car... at this point I was ready to crash and burn so I just hit the freeway and headed home, almost an hour with rush hour traffic, SO luckily the hubby was willing to meet me and the local ice cream shop so I was able to do a drive by and drop Faith off with him and go home and relax with Miss Felicity...

After days like these I get to reflect on how good our God really is, he blessed me with two truly amazing girls and a wonderful husband who allows me to be a stay at home mom. After a long 8 hour day I didn't get paid with money or riches but I got paid in blessings and that is plenty for me :)

Turtle Turtle Turtle

While on our week getaway, Faith was getting a bit stir crazy, so my mom and I went on the hunt for a park... we found a pretty good one if I do say so myself. Faith had a blast !! There was a cool zip line thing, I remember those when I was little and went to parks. It seems that parks these days just aren't built the way they use to be. Parks around here at least are built with the typical slide, bridge, monkey bars and climbing stuff. I'm just really excited that I got to ... I mean Faith got to experience the zip line thingy ma jig :)

Later in the week we decided it was time to Color Easter EGGS !! Faith was so excited, we decided to use the old school food coloring drops, vinegar and hot water. We had so much fun mixing colors and dipping the eggs. Faith got a little drop crazy :) squeezing the droppers... She has the patience of her mother, letting one drop out at a time just wasn't going to happen !!

In the mean time... Felicity has been rolling over like crazy and doing the turtle turtle turtle head thing and believe it or not, she is scooting !! At 3.5 months this little girl is ready to Rumble ...

On our adventure we also managed to spend some time with my grandparents. We were so excited to see them and it was SO nice to be able to have the girls around them. My grandma realized that little Miss Felicity has my grandpa's upper lip, it's kind of hard to see in the pics lol however, she is totally right !! It is so amazing to me that God creates us to be so unique, however some traits carryover to generations... my children seem to have traits of their grandparents and great grandparents, it truly is amazing !!

When I was visiting my grandparent's my grandma gave me an amazing compliment that I was so thankful for, "Birdie I have seen many many mothers, but I think you really are the BEST mother I have ever seen, your girls are very well behaved and the way you talk to Faith is Amazing." I could have melted, I love both my grandma and grandpa so very much !! I treasure the time I get to spend with them :)

We ended our adventure with some Easter Egg hunts and celebrating Easter at Donald's grandparents house. It was so nice to be around family, I missed my parent's and family... but part of being married is to spend time with the my husband's family as well, as hard as it is to accept I think I'm starting to relax a bit and accept that fact.

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter and enjoyed celebrating the rising of Christ !!

The Duck Affair

I feel awful for not blogging while I was on vacation, but the husband needed my computer and the next few posts should make up for it :)

Last weekend we took a drive down to Northern San Diego to visit my family. In the mean time, we had a bit of fun. We decided to go to the Wild Animal Park to celebrate my dad's birthday and because it's been such a long time since we have been. I will say it's not as "Wild" as I remember, it has become more of a "Zoo" ... however it was still a bunch of fun and we got to see a lot.

When we first arrived we were being all touristy (if that's a word) studying the park map and you wouldn't believe what decided to walk past us ...

That IS a cheetah... crazy right? it was being accompanied by 2 zoo keepers and a large black dog (I guess they transport with buddies to keep them comfortable.)

Next on the agenda came feeding the Lorikeet Birdies ... Faith had a blast... I must put out a warning... when going to see these birds be prepared to see poop and be pooped on... mostly nectar but still, my dad can preach about it ;)

To get out of the heat we managed to get on the African Safari tram ride, we saw giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and their babies !! SO CUTE !! It was a lot of fun to see all the animals in there some what natural habitats. I think it was too hot to take pics or something... so moving on to the GORILLAS !!

I will wrap up with how our trip ended, we were resting in the shade around a pond that had a few ducks in it. However we weren't prepared to be entertained...

Female duck #1 had a not so pretty nest, as she tried so hard to get the sticks to stay down and neat she couldn't help it, after all her so called "nest" ended up being a  fallen tree branch that was not so nest like. Male Duck however thought it could work, so he hopped up to check it out and after plucking at her a few times realized it wasn't what he wanted. In the mean time, Female Duck #2 was about 3 feet away in a much better put together beautiful nest, she started to puff herself up and do some weird throat thing (apparently it was a turn on) and you guessed it, Male Duck flew right over and and started showing off for her. I wasn't prepared to watch this Duck affair happen before my eyes, but thankfully a tall white crane looking bird was there to be the mediator as he stood down between the two nests shaking his head back and forth.

This is a pic of Female Duck #1 ...

Not sure how that all ended, but we had to get going... and yet we still had a successful Wild Animal Park Trip

Before ....

After...
